WHen traveling with my n810 I always use a nice small LowePro camera bag, it fits perfectly and has a little pouch on the front for extras (battery, headphones etc. As well, it clips nicely to a belt and doesn't take up pocket space.
It's not 'executive' and it is perhaps a little bulky for a 'case' but it works, and it's nicely padded for those little incidents. It's been very useful since I use the n810 exclusively as my travel device (no laptop) and aim to do the same with the n900.

im trying to find a good case to but had no luck looking for a vertic pouch with a soft lining to help keep the display clean and trying to find a good screen protector to

How much is the Nokia case? It's not ideal, but it will have to do until some better third party case comes along.
I cannot imagine how anything better to could be designed, with the way the keyboard comes out.

Leather vertical pouch with neoprene soft lining and closure.
It's made for the G1 but will fit the N900 and it's only $9.84 with shipping.
