I imagine as the administrator of a site like this, you wouldn't want to clutter it up too much with more and more forums. But I wonder if maybe this KDE program is deserving of it's own forum? I would think that most people who have installed it have simultaniously been amazed and overwelmed by it's possibilities. For example, part of it's power is the range of settings that are user settable. This also means that if you run into a problem it can be very hard as a new user to know what to do to set things up properly to get it to do what you want. Obviously this is just the sort of thing that a forum like this can aid with. I think this KDE program has the potential to offer some things that are lacking in the the stock IT like complex PIM capabilities. Wouldn't it be worth the extra space on the site page to give it and the people that are working on it the support it needs and deserves?

Hmmm.. 46 thread views and no response to my question? I guess it has to be something much juicier like this site sucks or something like that.

I'd like it to have its own forum.

If only because the 2 KDE threads are way way too hard to read if you are coming in new to the thing.

Yes, KDE definitely deserves its own forum (or sub-forum like Canola).

+1

KDE is my desktop of choice since 10 years now.

With konqueror and all its KIO slaves for (ssh, ftp, smb *put you protocol here*) + kwallet for the passwords + kate for editing I have all I need for remote sysadmin.

With Kontact and all its PIM applications I have all I need in this area too.

This opens A LOT of new opportunities for the tablet in my pocket.

It definitely needs a dedicated forum.

KDE needs a forum period.

I have been hanging around in the background for the past couple of months when I first got a N810 in November - I felt that the KDE devlopment on the IT needs a home so I took the liberty to buy ITKDE.COM (I also have a dedicated server) and will setup a forum and maybe install wordpress/wiki on the site tonight and if penguinbait would like to lead the way I would be more than happy to give full admin to both .

Trust no one objects just felt it needs a 'home' and I don't want to take anything away from the excellent work penguinbait has already done ! top job !!!
