Hi!

I've recently bought my N810 and I've been reading all the great info from you guys, I'm loving it. Still learning though. I've searched for this issue but haven't found.

I've recently tried several apps, such as claw-mail, fbreader, and such. At some point the "Get Started" demo/tutorial stoped working. It starts, loads but stalls with a white screen, no motion at all. I had to close the application. Tried several times, even restarted the system, same result.

So I decided to uninstall and reinstall it. With Application Manager I've uninstalled the tutorial-home-applet v0.3.7. But I can't find it on the repositories to reinstall. I've loaded all the repositories available at www.gronmayer.com/it/ for the OS2008. I searched but can't find any similar application/applet.

I also tried at the shell terminal:

Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install home-tutorial-applet
I got two errors:

Code:
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open
(13: Permission denied)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory
(/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?
So I must be doing something wrong. Any help?

When you type those commands, you need to have Application Manager closed. Maybe you had it open?

All applications closed, only terminal shell open. I've also restarted the system. Any ideas? Why can't I find the "get started" application to reinstall?

(/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?
What are the permission of the file:
ls -la /var/lib/dpkg/lock

Or your filesystem is readonly?
mount

At the moment, you can't install/remove _anything_

Ok, here goes:

Code:
ls -la /var/lib/dpkg/lock
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root

mount
I got a lot of filesystems mounts, all seem (rw). The only (ro) is:

Code:
/dev/root on /mnt/initfs type jffs2 (ro)
And I can install/uninstall using the Aplication Manager. Not on the shell though. Any thoughts?

:::

The "Get Start" can't load is because you have
Disable "Flash" at MicroB, Enable it & it will load again!

Hum, I don't remember disabling anything. Thanks, I'll check that on the future.
