Hi,

I'm having problems with the MaQii app - the launcher doesnt seem to work for me. I browse to my game directory in the launcher's settings and click ok. Then when i click launch from the main screen nothing happens. If i try to run MaQii in a terminal it says that it is using home/user/.quake2/baseq2/ for writing then says cant exec quetoo.cfg

then the sound initialization fails

then the video driver loads but it says it cant load pics/colormap.pcx

do i need to setup symbolic links to run this from the terminal?

please help. I have no idea why this wont work - its a clean install of OS2008

i did search, and i noticed several important differences - you'll notice i made a point to say that it is a fresh OS2008 flash install I.E. i never had quetoo, also, I also stated that the launcher runs fine - its when i click to run the game after selecting the map that it does nothing

this is the output when i run maqii-launcher from a terminal

its probably something to do with this first part and how it says 'write protected'

Quetoo 0.8.0
using /home/user/.quake2/baseq2/ for writing
couldn't exec quetoo.cfg
basedir is write protected.
Console initialized.

------- sound initialization -------
loading snd_sdl.so sound driver, ok
sound sampling rate: 48000

------- video initialization -------
loading vid_softsdl.so video driver, ok
recursive shutdown
Error: Couldn't load pics/colormap.pcx

i deleted the directory and all that did was clear the settings i had in the launcher - i set my quake directory again in settings and still have the same problem - i get the exact same console output

where is your basedir? are you pointing it to a directory under /usr/bin or a directory under /media ?
