After a long and educational wrestling match with my original n800 and two sendings to the repair center, I get a new machine, complete, and it works!

The ultra good here is that Nokia sent me a complete replacement. When you send to repair you send only the body, keep all the bits and pieces. So now I have twos of everything that comes standard, from back panel to batteries, ear buds, 4 stylus. wow!

And the great is that the download and flash of OS08 worked! It works! Been busy downloading all the apps that I have been reading about.

Thanks again to all that tried to help me with the problem. Seems like there is a hardware problem with some n800 in that they can't flash OS08.

Now on to more and better things. I have been learning Linux. Reading about ITT (lurking around this forum and reading long past posts) and so getting a grip on the potential of our little gadget. Getting a new home work station and will be installing a Linux Distro.
