I just did a fresh install of 2008 using windows Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard. Everything installed well. I then hit the Skype button and followed the instructions. Again everything seemed to go well - it finished saying Skype installed - but then after saying Skype installed the Application Manager flashed up a box saying 'operation failed.' When I attempt to use Skype, a box comes up saying 'Skype loading' but nothing actually starts. Plus now my Application Manager is broken - no matter what I do everything says 'operation failed.' When I run the log, this is what I get:
hildon-application-manager 2.0.2
E: Read error - read (5 Input/output error)
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

This happens everytime I try to install Skype. The only way I can fix it is to reflash. Should I be sending this unit back as 'broken' or is there something else I can do?
My opinion is that a factory installed app. should work out of the box without having to jump through hoops while holding your breath and praying that it will work. I've spent dozens of hours trying to get this thing to do just the stuff that came installed on it - I am really getting close to reaching that point where I simply cannot devote more time to just get basic functions working.
