As the title says it, why not starting a thread for presenting news and reviews of commercial tablet software?

I have personally found most of the "professional-use-segment" free (or Open Source) applications targeted to N800 not to satisfy my needs (say, a decent calendar sw with Outlook synchornization, to name but just one) and it seems that commercial option is not even available.

The Maemo Garage is fine to browse for free software, but to find information on available commercial software from one location just doesn't seem to exist.

I'd welcome a thread where these would be presented / advertized and the forum members would have an opportunity to write their reviews, comments and opinions of them.

I second your suggestion. The lack of propeer office apps for word processing ans spreadsheeting is a major pain and its sad that porting of such 'boring' apps get so little attention. The number of media centers avaiable for Maemo is astounding, all trying to outdo each other _ but if the tablets done make the jump to mainstream business use they will never become big. This is the downfall of the open source model. All the brainy developers are trying to do amazing things, but no one wants to keep the pot cooking.

Perhaps it just is that nobody has found the porting or developing business apps attractive enough, or then it is just the Nokia E-series business phones that gets all the attention and effort.

I feel that the N8X0 and Maemo platform have the true potential to develop from IT-hobbyists toy to a business tool, but it does need decent software support. I would be interested to commercialize such products if there is interest from the skilled coders (such developers please contact, if interested!)
