Greetings:

There has been talk about the N800 loosing battery power very quickly with the 2008 OS.

Some people have stated that a swap file in one of the SD Cards is the core of the problem.

If someone has knowledge of how to solve this problem can you post a step by step process.

Regards Robert

after i have disabled the wifi scan (before was every 10min), battery duration now is ok, i mean about 1.5days of limited use+standby.

The RSS reader application can also be trying to make a connection.

Get in the habit of of using the OFFLINE profile when you don't want to be connected (WiFi or Bluetooth) to save battery life.

I get about 2 hours of web browsing now as opposed to the 5 hours I used to get. I've shut off the RSS reader and all the other crap and the CPU meter isn't spiking. I thought my battery was just getting used up as Li-Poly batteries do, but this thing is less than a year old. I'm thinking of rolling back to OS2007 to see if it's an OS specific issue.

Some people are putting their heads together at the following link to try to find a pattern.

I rolled back to OS2007 last night. I browsed for well more than 3.5 hours without any issue. I'll continue the experiment tonight and see just how much more battery life I get with the older OS.

I can verify that OS2008 with no 3rd party software installed does not suffer from this. But then - I did have a different memory card in it too.
