For some reason my N800 (OS2008) will not retain my desired settings to turn OFF the "Next word prediction" and "Insert space after word".

I keep turning these OFF via:

on-screen keyboard
Tools
Settings (Text Input)
Language tab
and unchecking the two boxes.

But after a while these two boxes keep getting set back.

Is there another application running somewhere that resets these?

Has anyone else noticed this behavior in their N8x0?

Try it from Control Panel?

I have done it both ways and it still keeps being reset.

I am going to start checking it in between running each application and see when it changes.

It's like that darned camera. I keep unchecking the Internet Call -> Tools -> Settings -> Start when camera is launched, but it keeps coming back as well.

Very frustrating!

I've tested every application that I run and none of them seem to be to blame.

On a hunch I rebooted my N800 and bingo! ... the settings changed on their own!

What about the boot proocess causes this to happen? (Yet another reason besides battery life to not reboot your N8x0!)

I have the same issue except in reverse. I turn on the settings and everytime I reboot they are unchecked again. I was wondering if anyone knew which config file these settings were written out to?

Maybe Nokia has come up with a way to predict what settings you DON'T want and set them that way?
