I use media streamer or sometimes the built-in media player on my N800 (OS 2008) to listen to podcasts from my PC over my home wireless network. If I get halfway through a podcast and have to stop I want to come back later and pick up where I left off. However, the system is unable to "seek" forward in the file. This is frustrating.

Does anyone know a solution to this?

Not really, you're probably streaming using HTTP and there's no real mechanism in that to support streaming.

If you saved the file to disk, you could probably start playing it back in Media Player whilst it downloaded in the background. You could then re-open the file at a later date and resume from where you wanted.
