What is the best combination of photo file type and size (resolution) to display on the 800N in order to get the best image and reasonable memory usage? Thanks

I believe the screen is 800x400. So a resolution with whatever aspect ratio your photos are in that's close to that will be good.

As for photo types, I don't think it really matters, though my camera takes pictures in .jpg so that's what I use.

If you are referring to a background image (i.e. wallpaper), the N800's screen resolution is 800x480. You should be able to use any of the "standard" web image formats such as .png, .jpg, .gif. Do you have a specific use-case in mind?

Screen is 800 x 480. I use jpegs, too, but that's what I use for everything.
