I'm new to PluThon....so please be gentle.

I am trying to run a "hello_world" app just to learn.

PluThon just hangs trying to send files to the N810. So I have some questions:

1. Does this work with N810/OS2008? Rsync and openssh-server are fine.
2. Do I need to run rsyncd on the N810?
3. Is there any way I can see what happens?

I know the ssh session is established. I think data is being exchanged (I am tracking network data with Wireshark.).

ANy clues? Thanks!

Mike.

A new version of PluThon has been released yesterday (2008-02-26). This version support N810 with the latest version of OS 2008 and rsync is no more used. Some other features have been added and bugs have been fixed since November 2007.

Please, let me know if you have any problem on installing and using PluThon. Feedback can be sent to pluthon-users@garage.maemo.org

Hey Glauber
I'm a NEWBIE and I NEED Python 2.5 installed on my N800 to add some programs that I'd like to use. Can you help me install it? I tried following the instructions on the Python installation page, but I know NOTHING about TRACKER and SUDO and ROOT, and more importantly I don't want to "Break" my device.

PLEASE HELP ME, and if not, can you guide me to a place where I can get help?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you provide me.

Mike.

Please, follow the installation instructions regarding the Target Environment (maemo), at the PluThon web page. Clicking the green icon you can install the PluThon dependencies automatically, including Python 2.5. Using the green icon you do not need to use sudo or root. The maemo Application Manager will resolve all the dependencies and will not break your device.

I have pluthon installed, but have only tested it with a command line app that prints hello world. Does anyone know of good tutorials to start developing in pluthon-python for the ITT? some hello world app that links to the correct libraries and everything?
Thanks.
