Okay, I have two questions:

1) Is there any way to change my nickname for my google talk account when using telepathy?

2) Is there any way to let the mnotify applet blink the blue 'you've got mail led'?

Thanks

1. Go to accounts in control panel and edit the gtalk account.

2. no. you can use the default email app for imap/push email which blinks the led when you get mail.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

1) There's not option to change the nickname there. Plus, when I set the nickname when I recreate the account, telepathy doesn't use it at all, it just uses the default nick (which is the account(@gmail.com)).

2) That's too bad, since the default e-mail client (and modest) is too slow to handle my IMAP mail. I think there are just too many of them.

That is strange. I did the following Accounts > edit(gtalk account) > Next > changed the nickname > ok
My nickname did change.

That's indeed strange, it only shows the username and password for me.

Hehe, right, yeah, found it (again) but it doesn't change anything for me! It correctly shows the nickname I want, but in other people's contact lists I show up with the wrong nickname.

That's strange right?
