Is there a way to transfer from a PC to the 770, maybe via usb? The PC runs windows XP. I am admittedly a newb, so please be gentle.
thanks

Yes, you can transfer files to the 770, but only the memory card. So, you must have the memory card plugged in and then connect the USB cable to the device. XP will go through it's process of recognizing the device ( you may have to reboot as well.) After that, it looks like another drive to XP.

You will not be able to browse the device itself from XP, like you can with Smartphones/PocketPCs. You can only transfer files to and from the memory card.

It's not quite true that you can "only" transfer files to the memory card. Using the USB cable and using the 770 as a glorified card reader, correct. (This is certainly the easiest if it does what you want)

However other options for transferring files include Bluetooth (more theoretically at the moment: I couldn't get it to work with Windows) or wireless LAN (scp, NFS, web, ftp).

Cheers,

Andrew

dont forget the web.

if u have an online storage web server, or account, then u can store files online, or even email attachments to a web addy, where u can then download them onto ur 770 anywhere in the world - just a thought
