I have an N800 running OS2008. I installed a downloadable version of wiki onto a sim card and set the web short cut on the main screen to point to a static html page in the wiki. I also downloaded a nice image to go with it and it looks great.

The problem is that when I click the web short cut image it comes up with a pop up windw asking me if I want to save the html file ???? I have no idea why this is. Once I get past all this it seems to work ok put it spoils the whole set up.

Is there a way to get searching working - at the moment I have to go to the index page pick a letter and then scroll down through the subject areas and click a link to get that info. I fully understand why I need to do this but I was just wondering if anyone had a simple method of using a search method.

PS is there also a way to add a short cut (preferably with an image) that brings up a directory. I'd just like a quick link to my books.

What is the address that you use ?
For a local page it should look like this:
file:///media/mmc1/MyLocalWebPage.html

That's pretty much what it is:

file:///media/mmc1/wiki/index.htm

When I put:
file:///media/mmc1/
I get the directory listing.
Maybe something on that page initiates the "save file" massage. Try a different page. You can create one in notes. Try disabling javascript.

Turning off javascript seemed a good idea but I still got the same issue.

I trued a different page but that caused the same issue. It's trying to save a file named the same as the file I'm opening.

Oddly if I open the file by going to the same directory and double clicking the file then it just opens normally.

I'll try writing a small web page and opening that from the web short cut tool - to see if the issue is there.

Any other ideas?

EDIT - I created a tiny web page called test.htm using notes in the same directory and the same issue happened. It seems to start the browser, then the pop up comes up asking if I wish to save test.htm. Oddly I couldn't get it to show the web page now (nor for the original wiki web page though I'm sure it used to - I think)
