Hi,

Recently I installed X11VNC service in my Nokia N810. It work flawlessly, BUT... Some things doesn't work. First, the 3rd button from top (Applications and Settings) can't be clicked from VNC Client and, in some apps the ENTER key doesn't work from the Client, e.g. microB, when I type an address I must do click at green arrow, because ENTER doesn't work, the same in some fields in other apps. I already tried other VNC clients with same results.

Some body knows what can be wrong?

Regards,

Taguapire.

I'm having the exact same problem actually. Haven't found any workarounds just yet...

I'm experiencing some keyboard issues too. None character with shift + number keys works well, but it returns a letter, instead the showed symbol in the number keys.

Is there any way to fix that?
I can't select main 3 icons (web, contacts, apps) from the left toolbar, no way to type address in webbrowser.
As for "enter" key - I figured out that only enter from numpad works 8-|
Looks like it isn't related to some specific vncclient I use on PC side - behaviour is exactly the same for realVNC as well as linux standard xvncviewer.
Oh - I've forgot - I'm using OS2007HE@N770 but as far as I can see - it happens also for n810.

For menu selection try clicking contacts then use cursor keys

There's a workaround; it involves disabling pressure information, and requires rebooting when you change it, so it's not real practical. I don't have a link on me, but search...

Selecting the contacts then using the cursor keys works, thanks, but what about if I'm in full screen mode, is there any way of bringing up the home-key switcher?

EDIT: Never mind I figured it out, just do alt-tab like in windows. For me in tightvnc viewer i press the alt button then press tab on my keyboard

Basically the answer lies in re-mapping the keyboard. Remember the VNC Client is reading your keypress and x11vnc is interpreting that on the NIT. Just like with Bluetooth keyboards, you can re-map keys to specific functions and load that Map via Xmodmap (easiest for me) when opening the VNC CLient on the far end (ie open terminal run Xmodmap - haven't found easier solution on NITs yet)

Then when you hit say Shift-F6 you can have x11vnc interpret that as Fullscreen switch.

Don't ask me how to re-map all the keys as I haven't spent time figuring out all the mappings, but I know it can be done as I have done it in the past with other machines.
