Hello all! I am a newbie. When I try to watch video from m.youtube.com, the link to 3gpp file is automatically downloaded and transferred to Media Player, but it fails to play it saying "file format not supported".

What are my options? Should I change a player which is opened by default from the browser? Or is there a way to teach MP handle 3gp files?

You could try using the proper Youtube.com site instead of the mobile phone version? The tablets do actually work with the full site, the tablet browser is far better than those on mobile phones.

Alternatively you could install Canola and watch YouTube through that, which is probably the easiest way to navigate the site, and it uses the proper Flash videos too.

I've had 3gpp files work when I transferred them from a phone, so the player should support it, but perhaps YouTube's mobile site uses some weird version of the format?

Hello! Thank you for your answer. I tried using "big" youtube site, but it is extremely slow, if I'm not connected to wi-fi. I blame it to the browser. Even with EDGE, all "big" (i.e. non-adapted) sites load very slowly in the built-in browser, which fact pisses me off. Actually, even with wi-fi it is still a bit slow. Even with pictures disabled in the browser. Ceteris paribus, I d'prefer watching youtube videos without loading the huge webpage, that's why I prefer m.youtube.com.

I'll try the canola thing and report results here. Thanks!

Done! Tested Canola. Well, there are serious complaints on it.
First, it loads too slowly (approx. 12 sec). Second, it is not minimizable. Third, it poorly supports search in cyrillic letters, which is crucial for me (ctrl+chr does not work, so I have to slide my screen down, call on-screen keyboard, switch it to cyrillic, then type what I need, then slide the screen back up...).

So, I am still not content))) If there are any alternatives, please post them here.

You can "minimize" Canola by pressing the "Back" key (the curved arrow at the bottom left). In the menu that pops up, just select the main window (forget what it's called, and don't have my N800 w/ me at the moment)

Deeterorderas, unfortunately your advice doesn't work for me. When I tap the 'curved arrow' key at bottom left, it offers me only binary option: to exit or not. Maybe there is a different version of Canola out there? I have one installed from application manager.

Try the "little house" rather than the "curved arrow".

Hardware button, not on-screen button.

and if you press "home" button, task list pops up, if you hold it, home screen appears (all apps are minimized).
