While connected to the internet, go to the "Manage Repositories" dialog (available from the "Maps" menu) and press the "Download..." button. This will download some "sample" repositories to your repository manager. Alternatively, you can visit the Maemo Mapper Repositories thread on these forums for a more complete listing of repositories that are known to work with Maemo Mapper.

That did it, I appriciate it. Its got a bit of a learning curve, but this is an incredible device for what it is, I like it more and more everyday. Nothing in its size class come close, and it owns the price to perfomance catagory.

Gnuite, I have having a problem with the visibility of the maps downloaded via Maemo Mapper. When I zoom out to see the whole country, the maps look fine. But when I start zooming in to download maps the views are distorted. They do not look as clear as before. This change happened when I downloaded and installed the latest software for the Nokia N800. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and deleting the old maps. But nothing has worked so far. Any advise you can give me on this? Thanks and great work with this software.

Try turning on "Auto-Download" in the "Maps" menu. You'll need access to the internet in order to download maps.

It sounds like you may be only downloading higher zoom levels, and not the more detailed zooms. I like a level of 5, but you may prefer higher or lower. If you're only downloading something like level 10 or so, you'll never see much detail, although you can still zoom in, and you'll get blurred views.

I actually found the problem. I didn't have the repositories set correctly. Thanks,
