This is the command line version of the windows gui equivalent hijetter for unix. PFT is made by the same people as hijetter.

The Hijetter gives you the opportunity to explore printers via their PJL interface. This includes access to the environment variables the file system and the display of the target. You might play around with these elements in order to improve or decrease the performance and usability of a printer.
I've used hijetter in school before and I have a **** load of fun with it. I've downloaded work that was printed off thats "cached" in the printer, I've used it to store files on the printer (it runs a HTTP server by default ^-^( and I've changed the message on the printer to things like "you can push my buttons baby", "insert coin" :P

Forgot to add, for HP printers only: http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=s...printerhacking

Screenie:
[sbox-CHINOOK_ARMEL: ~/23/pft] > ./pft
