I read several of the posts on cloning the OS, but what I am really looking for is a way to make a "snapshot" of everything in the Flash, etc to use as a backup.
I doubt a simple cp -a of / will accomplish this.
Any apps, solutions?

rsync just keeps giving me errors when I rsync -v root@n810_ip:/
It askes for user@ip password (I have a user passwd installed for GPE sync to Evo), then lists the directories, but never copies squat.
All I am looking to do is be able to restore my system (including installed applications) should I hose it again (like a true backup). It takes forever to do when I have to re-download everything from the repositories.

Ok, say I've cloned to SD. I have everything working fine. Then I change one file that sends me into an infinite reboot loop. The OS can't fully boot because when it gets to this file it crashes. (It's happened before) My question is: could I stick the card into my Windows computer and change that file back to normal?

Take your pick:
The cloned OS will have everything you have and do not have to re-dl apps. However, I am not sure how do you 'restore' or clone it back to your tablet.
