At work we have a wireless setup with more than two access points to cover the entire office. The problem is, there are two access points that overlap each other and have the same name. Somehow, my N800 is always grabbing the weaker signal when there's an access point within 12 feet of my area.

Is there a way of forcing my tablet to connect to the closer access point?

Thanks.

the only way to do it i think is to disconnect from the weaker access point then tell it to reconnect the the stronger one.

i have the same problem with the wifi extender in my house, i have to have the extender off if i am not using it or my n800 will auto connect to it. its annoying i know now you feel.

Hmmm...not much options here. Common logic would be to tell the device to connect onto the stronger signal access point.

I hope the new OS update will figure this one out.

BTW, how would you tell it to connect onto the stronger one? Because all of the access points (4 in total) are all named the same.

you can name it on the tablet wifi connection, exp edit your connection and name them to - belkin 1 belkin 2 so on,
i have two acess point but it does not connect automatically so i can choose the strongest at will.
