Strange. I just tried it again and the application manager had no problem with the extras/bora/free+ non-free

For starters I am an 770 newbie. I have only had it a few days. I am running OS 2006 and have been trying to install Pidgin and not having any luck.

What I have found is that the install is failing with (from the app manager log):

Code:
Installing pidgin 2.0.0-1nix2
Failed to fetch http://repository.maemo.org/pool/mae..._armel.deb:404 Not Found [IP:216.165.163.40 80]
Failed to fetch http://repository.maemo.org/pool/mae..._armel.deb:404 Not Found [IP:216.165.163.40 80]
So these last two lines of the log is why I think this may be a relavant topic. I browsed out to these locations and the structure is there all the way to where I click on the *.deb itself and get a 404.

I understand that this may just be symptomatic, if so point me in a better direction.

Thanks,

Slack

The maemo.org website is truly awful. It goes up and down like a yoyo and I frequently get random database errors when visiting it. Their downloads section is aweful, it was honestly better when the downloads pages were maintained as a wiki. There is also no link from maemo.org to garage.maemo.org, which is probably the most useful page on the site. I don't know how new users deal with it.
