Hey guys. I´m having troubles again turning on the N800. It shows the nokia logo screen with the blue bar at the bottom but when it finishes it hangs there for a few seconds and reboot itself starting all over again. At that point I have to get the battery out to turn it off. (Its the same thing with the charger plugged in).
I read that disableing the lifeguard system might fix this, the thing is that I have windows XP and know nothing about linux. I tried doing this http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...82&postcount=4 but once I download and run dsl linux what do i do?

Thanks

**You need to make sure your bios is set to boot from the cdrom.
After fixing your bios reboot your computer with the CD in your drive.

I will try to help but I use Ubuntu so I suggest downloading Ubuntu and using it as a live cd. So first download and burn a copy of Ubuntu to a cd. Then place cd in a drive and shut down your computer. Then restart your computer and before windows starts you should be able to press a button, like esc, F1, F2.... and have a start up menu that should allow you to boot from your cd-drive. If you are successful Ubuntu should boot and you should come to a menu that should allow you to use the Ubuntu cd as a live cd. You should probably connect your computer by cable to your modem or whatever you use to get on the internet, because I will not tell you how to get your wireless to work under Ubuntu, because I can barely set up my own wireless. So once you are connected to the internet fire up Firefox and download the flasher from the link in the first post, it should download to your desktop. Then go to the upper left hand corner of your screen there should something called Applications click on it, then go down to Accessories and then go to Terminal. The terminal window should pop up. In the terminal window type "sudo su" without the quotes, this will give you root. Next click on your flasher and drag it into the terminal screen, it should create a line of text like '/home/.../Desktop/flasher-3.0' now delete both the leading ' and the following ' and flasher-3.0 and place and type cd before the remainder. It should look something like this "cd /home/.../Desktop/" without the quotes. Then type "chmod +x flasher-3.0" without the quotes and then you can follow the instructions on the link in the first post. Sorry if this is not what you want but I am not sure what you want.

If the solution is to re-flash, you can do that from XP. I've had to do it a few times when I messed something up and got stuck in the perpetual reboot cycle.

You can flash using either the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard for XP, or my instructions on using the flasher for linux.
