I'm trying to install the updated plugins for canola2 but it says: canola2 installation is missing, however I have it installed.

Apparently the plugins require version >= 2.0.0~beta9-maemo2 but I have 2.0.0~beta9-maemo1 and I don't know how to replace the maemo1 version for maemo2 version...

Ps. I'm Running Diablo...

I checked the catalog and there is an entry ( added automatically by gronmayer ) that says:

Testing Maemo Extras
http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
chinook
free

EDIT: I have disabled the "Testing Maemo Extras" and this apparently solved the problem...
(now I have the same versions that I had before this problem !!!)

Ps. That's weird... this has hever happened before ! (at least to Me !)

Hello, the extras-devel working is the Diablo one, we are finishing the process of making canola ready for diablo so we will move it to extra as soon as it gets ready to rumble missing? ogg support, we need the ogg guys's code in diablo repos to compile the support!

Hi there!

I'm really sorry (and new to the game), but I don't quite see the answer in this yet. Like the initiator of this thread I am still running Chinook with the latest Canola version available. And yet for a week or two now I cannot install new/updated plug-ins (YouTube & Tuning) because of the exact aforementioned error. Just now I tried installing the last.fm plug-in, of which there is no version on my device yet at all, and it, too, stops with the same error message.

Therefore I'm afraid I'll have to ask again - where exactly is the problem? Do these plug-ins only work with some experimental Diablo release of Canola which goes by "beta9-maemo2"? Is there even a "maemo2" version for 'normal' users under Chinook available? Let me clarify - this is in no way meant as a complaint or some such, I just don't quite get the problem and thus don't know how to fix it for my situation.

Thanks so much in advance for Your help and suggestions - really, really love Canola, this is by far the most awesome program for the N810 to date!

Cheers!

Go into your application manager, then open the Application catalog list and disable the catalog with the web address "http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/"

Then try installing the plugins again.

The problem is the plugins listed in the extras-devel are for the new diablo version of canola. The plugins from the normal chinook extras should install fine.

Hi !

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately that did not have the expected result. I did as You said and deleted the catalog, then tried installing a plug-in again, but the error message still stayed the same, saying that I need the Canola version ending in "maemo2" instead of "maemo1", a version, like I said, I seem to be unable to find, as it is apparently the one for Diablo, right?

The only thing that did change, though, is that when I now try to install the last.fm plug-in via the Canola website, the program manager just opens and does nothing while the browser freezes, and only after I forcefully close the browser will the installation start, only to then fail again anyhow. Rebooting the system does not help either. And I did check - the catalog is gone and only the older one without "devel" remains.

I'm really quite at a loss here... :-(

Hi Weckman, it maybe that even after removal, you now have half libraries from the extras and others from extras-devel.

The best thing to do is to make sure extra-devels and any other repositorie is disabled, install the canola-cleanup
run it, and reinstall canola. It 's really boring I know.. but this will make sure all the libraries are clean and from only one source!

I will ask some guys from the team to take a look at this.
