Hey all, I am new to the n810 (just got it last thursday) and am having a lot of trouble installing applications from maemo.org... mostly I get a message saying "Incompatible application package".

Also I'd love some kind of catalogue for downloads that would show all installable applications in the application manager... I have the hardest time finding applications twice on that darned thing it's like every time I open the manager there are different apps there, some are removed from the list and others added.

Mostly what I'd like to get working right now is the USB hosting, gba emulator, n64 emulator, and a decent theme maker app. I've already found most of these on maemo already but can't get anything to install so I'm back to my old problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, 52 views already but not one reply... anyone have any idea what I'm talking about here at least or is it so obvious I should have figured it out by now?

Yes, the first thing I did after opening the box was the update... I've tried a lot of other programs from the maemo website and very few of them seem to work, some say corrupted installer... the problem might be with the website I guess.

Is there anywhere I can actually download these programs (for keeps) other than always installing them through the internet?

This may be attributed to factors other than a refusal to help you...

for instance, perhaps some thought you might have read (or might eventually read) one or more of the several other topics on the forum posing this same issue...

In that case you would thing someone would post a link or at least mention those other topics... search bars are generally pretty sketchy at finding speciffic problems and of the 50 or so posts for the n810 I haven't seen anything that mentions this issue.

maybe if you were to search on "Diablo install problem" (Diablo is the name of the latest OS, which you recently installed on your tablet), or "Diablo repository problem" (a repository is a place where applications are stored for installation over the network)...

Cool thanks, I'll try looking around with that then... already found some new stuff that might work.

If I haven't mentioned I'm a newb then consider this official, Ièd never even used a tablet until last thursday and never messed around with linux either so this is all new to me.
