anyone have any issues with a vistaboost capable USB flash drive and accessing it via your N8X0 / diablo? I was having fits this morning trying to copy a folder to my usb drive where it wouldn't write to the drive nor could I transfer files off the usb drive to the IT.
At first I thought it might be that the drive was formatted to FAT32, but I reformatted it to FAT and still have the problem. Then thought it might be the NTFS support I added last night (and had fun looking thru my 500gb hd) so I removed that and tried again with no success.
I can write read the contents of the drive, and 'write' to it, but it seems that when I switch to my windows box, the file is corrupted and won't show up or whatnot. When I switch to a different USB drive (non vistaboost enabled) it reads and writes to it just peachy...
for the record, I am using a PQI 2GB Vistaboost enabled drive (U339 Pro model). It looks like the drive is partitioned into 2 separate drives: The main one is about 1.9gb and the second one (the vistaboost enabled one) is about 10megs. The vistaboost partition is write-protected so I can't format it or deleted using regular means (on WindowsXP) nor on my tablet. I've tried several different formatters as well to delete the partitions to make one big drive (including one from PQI itself - which I sent in an email request for help to, but don't expect an answer) but so far it's been of little use.
so, anyone else have this problem? Is there anyone who knows how to get rid of this stupid partition on the flash drive? Will Minnie every leave Micky? These are the questions that I'm asking!
well after much fussing with it, and finally being able to reformat it into a single, non-vista readyboost enabled device, I'm coming to the conclusion that it's just the IT doesn't like this particular model of USB (a PQI U339 Pro). Shrug...
