How does one get the details maps for nokia n810, i just got back from a trip and most fo the time the maps just showed major highways and no detailed roads or anything.
does one donload additional maps to it than? how do we get the detail info.

I use Maemo Mapper; you don't say what program you're using, but in Maemo Mapper, you can download maps for a region with Maps > Manage Maps...; you can select a rectangular area, or download maps for a specified radius along a route.

sounds good, the map i was using was the default nokia maps.

that also i deleted by mistake and now cannot download it seems

in the default wayfinder app just hit the plus sign to get more detail.

you do not specify what you deleted - so it is difficult to help you reinstall

what i deleted was the usa west and east maps to download latest

while connected to the web open map then go to maps see where it says available maps click refresh pick what you want and download (1 at a time)

this should work if you removed via the map app
