I've been using a cheap Samsung phone since I got my n810 and never had any trouble using phonelink with it for SMS. I just got an Nokia n82, and I can get it to work. I've paired the two using the n810 Bluetooth manager, and that worked fine, but when I activated phonelink, it says it's not supported.

I tried using Gnokii (which I never needed to do on my Samsung phone) and it couldn't retrive the n82's phone BT Mac address, so I entered that manually, and it still didn't work. When I started up Phonelink without the BT Mac address entered in Gnokii, it said that that SMS wasn't supported. When I tried it with the BT Mac address entered in Gnokii, phonelink took a *long* time to start and when it started it had a connection timed out message.

So, how can I use phonelink with my n82?

Have you check the Wiki page ?
I think the N82 is a S60 3rd gen phone : you should try settings that works for other similar phones (N95 ...) model AT rfcomm : ?
I think sdp tools can help find the right rfcomm
