Not if they get that N900 out anytime soon. (Which I really hope so, but kinda doubt...)

But, hell, the render looks kinda cool. I'm just noting digging on the "iPhone button". If it looked more like just half a mac-book, I would definitely consider getting one.

Then I would load Ubuntu on it.

As much as I love my N810... I'd be there for this.

Hmph. The assumption you could run Ubuntu on it is not necessarilly good. Obviously I'm just speculating, but to me it seems a lot more likely to be (as suggested by the linked article) an 800x480 or so iPhone-like device, so non-x86. Hardware-wise, I'm not seeing any real advantages over a Pandora or N9xx, and very little over an N8x0. Considering the likely cost difference, I'm unlikely to be interested when it is released.

If, otoh, it turns out to be the long-awaited MacTablet or UMPC, it'll just be another sweet piece of hardware with a bit too high a premium for me.

Looks nice but I hope there will NOT a sim card slot in it.
It turns out that most devices without a sim slot sell hundreds of $$$ less than a comparable device with a sim card slot.
e.g. N810 vs N95/ n96 or e71
iPod touch vs iPhone

Even tho Apple is great with keeping stuff under the lid, I think it's probably EEEs or similar devices running Leopard/Tiger which show up in the server logs.

Yeah, WTF is up with that. iPhone is a netbook my a55. I don't believe he actually said that, unless Apple really does not understand what a netbook is...

i think what he was saying that all the things you could use a netbook for (at least with something like those linux installs, out of the box) you can use a iphone for, web, mail, media, notes.
