I've been looking for a way to stream music and video to the tablet from an external networked USB drive. Would something like this work with the tablet or would software have to be written to port it over allowing you to stream the files?

The tablet supports SMB so it should work. That being said, in my experience, the tablet's SMB support doesn't always find my network shares. But when it does, it works very nicely.

I think it will work. This device has a samba server and so it can be used with linux. On your tablet you can browse samba shares with the filemanager if they are not secured by a password.

Wow, it has UPnP built in which is also accessible by the tablet. Very cool device.

Per the comments at Engadget, this is the same as : http://www.amazon.co.uk/NEWLink-Sing...378631&sr=1-12.
Apparently, it's a one-user-at-a-time device. No multiple connections.

Odd, http://www.addonics.com/products/nas/nasu2.asp claims 64 sessions.

Support Samba server for up to 64 concurrent clients.

One of the two is not right. Possibly different firmware versions?

What OS does it run, what are the hardware specifications, what is the read/write speed? You'd still need some kind of 24/7 device on if I understand correct.
