And video works for second, but crashes on the windows side.. which I wonder if is ekiga on windows..
I'll looking other sip programs more stable for windows than ekiga..

Yeah, I had the same problem with ekiga on windows. Skype f...ed up my Sounddrivers, so in the end I removed it all and decided to live without any sip calling on my windows comp

X-Lite for windows works well... both audio and video, just download the "free" version of X-Lite (google will yield the link fairly quickly for you); been using it for video chatting since Chinook first came out...

Wow, really? Would I just install the Linux version on my NIT?
http://www.counterpath.net/X-Lite-Download.html

Or is there a .deb somewhere of this?

Thanks in advance

You need to install X-Lite in your PC. Nothing in your NIT.

video chat works!!
Tablet with PC.
Xlite on the pc side and internet call, using an ekiga account.
I have seen that ekiga has better quality than gizmo.
Finally videochat to PC is here!!

I'm trying to use the built-in Maemo SIP client to talk to my Ekiga account -- is anyone else having problems with this approach?

I'm getting back a "606 Not Acceptable" message from ekiga.net (but not from my desktop, but that uses the ekiga client). From a wireshark trace, I can see that the Nokia client is connecting, and appears to ask for "invite, ack, bye, cancel, options, prack, message, update" -- only the "PRACK" is different from what the ekiga client is sending.

Am I missing something? I *think* I've got a fairly vanilla setup: "Advanced" options indicate UDP transport (auto didn't work) from port 5060, discover public address is checked (I've tried both ways), and keepalive is set to "auto". No other funny knobs are turned....

This /was/ working some months ago (presence/chat and the agent) - but it got broken at some point ....

Is anyone else having success with the NIT default client to ekiga.net?

- TOm
