Hello everyone,
I just want to start off by saying that i am a newbie to maemo and the n810.
I started playing with the n810 and got app crazy and well i'm sure as you know i ran out of space. I looked into extending the usr home but found that was not a good idea but booting from an SD card it.
So i have a microSD in a miniSD adapter that is a 8GB Class 4 SDHC. put that sucker in and followed this link https://wiki.maemo.org/Booting_from_a_flash_card from there i followed the partitioning steps noted in that article here https://wiki.maemo.org/Partitioning_a_flash_card
In following that article everything goes well except when i do mke2fs /dev/mmcblk1p2
it gets to Writing inode tablet: 7/57 and then it reboots the n810.
Any ideas? if i do this in gpart is does the same. If i format the whole 8gb sd it works with 1 ext2 partition.
Thanks in Advance

ok i tried that and the same thing happens during the format of the linux partition.
i used pbeasy first and then pb and the same results both times.
To make sure i had everything clean i flashed the device back to factory and formated both of the SD (internal and external)
any other suggestions? is there a log i can post for you?
Thanks again

should be.
Sometimes applications can have open files on the SD card and then partitioning it becomes a pain.
I would suggest, turn off, pull out sd card, turn on, then plug in card and partition.
see if that helps, other wise is it possible the cards corrupt?

Hard to say, just because you formatted it as 1 partition, did you fill it with 8gb's of data? Anything is possible
You mean a standard size changer, or what kind of adapter? That should not make a difference
