Sonata and mmpc eats battery tho plus you have to switch application which is suboptimal if you are using the n810 as a fullscreen remote control (with irreco)

Sonata likes to keep talking to mpd, but that has nothing to do with mpc.
Wouldn't it be nice to slide the volume where ever you want, when ever you want?
I have one Python file controlling everything and it runs on ALL my linux boxes
im trying to setup irreco to use the telnet backend so i can control mpd on my linux box. telnet works on the desktop but it requires a password to be able to connect.
as far as i can tell irreco does not deal with passwords at all. how do i connect to my machine using telnet?
(yes, the port and ip numbers are all correct)
