Suddenly I noticed that the default Media Player does not want to load.

When I start the application it says "Media Player - Loading" but then it does not come up. The internet radio on the desktop works fine.

Any idea how to troubleshoot it or where can I re-install the default Media Player?

I would recommend re-installation as you, yourself, have suggested.

Well its not possible to reinstall the default media player, since it comes with the OS. So I reinstalled the OS.

I managed to repeate the same error. If I click on an m3u or pls file then it starts playing all the songs in it, but does not open the media player. And after that Media Player is screwed and will never open.

Solution for me was to reinstall OS and never click m3u or pls files in File Manager, coz then it screws the media player.

It must be a bug in the code.

maybe a fix would be to reset the play list of the player then...

not sure where its stored, but it must be somewhere...

a quick bit of poking seems to indicate a interesting file at /home/user/.osso/mediaplayer-engine/recovery.m3u
