Hey. Is there any way to view all my files in filemanager?

No, the built-in filemanager doesn't show the hidden files (those that start with '.').
emelfm is a filemanager that is said to show them, but I haven't tried it yet.
My filemanager of choice for such tasks is X-Terminal.

Similarly, is there a way to get the standard 'Choose File' dialog to show hidden files? You can use a different file manager, but most applications call the standard dialogs.

Also, is there a way to get the file dialogs to show the #$%$^ filename extensions?! Whoever decided it would be easier to hide the extension and rely on the icon to identify file types was insane. (And yes, I know that OSs have been doing this since long before Maemo was around.)

emelfm2 is good. But as above lots of apps call up the standard file dialog. I would love to know if there was a way to turn off its insane habit of counting the files in a directory. Its not funny when there are thousands and its talking on a slugged 2Mbyte/sec mmc interface. I give up quickly on any app that uses the standard file open dialog.
