Well, looks like docreader instalation file is not updated. And for openoffice, I need another OS, right? I am just a regular user.

Do a backup of your tablet and then use this post

You can install debian very easily even if you are a novice user, this install includes OpenOffice, writer is very usable on the N810.

Not a native ap but you can read MS docs with Google Docs which can also save those MS docs in formats which can be read directly on the tablet -- text, HTML, PDF.

no?

Abiword does work ok for viewing word docs, but is prone to crashing. Don't try to edit or save a word document though!

I guess if you're connected to the internet, you can email it to your gmail account and use the preview function in there.
