I have an N800 with an iGo keyboard and I was thinking of replacing it with a 2nd gen iPod touch. The thing is, I found it really convenient using the bluetooth keyboard along with my tablet and was wondering if I'd be able to enjoy the same with an iPod touch..

I've been browsing around ipod touch forums and nothing really came up so if you have any answers, that'd be great~ Thanks

The iPhone has no functional bluetooth; no DUN, A2DP, HID, or I think anything else but HSP.

And the iPod Touch doesn't even have that.

apparently it has a chip that operates on a proprietary protocol on the same frequency as bluetooth in order to link to the Nike+iPod thing, but it would take some serious hacking and probably hardware modding to get that to do anything even remotely resembling bluetooth

It's unclear whether the chip is BT capable or not; it was initially assumed as such, but nobody seems to know for sure, and AFAIK, with most of the hacking attempts for keyboards and such focused at the dock port, nobody's working on it.

but still will not add support for things like keyboards...

i guess thats a 4.0 feature, and another $20...

the more i see this kind of behavior from apple, the more i love the maemo community.

HIDD has been hacked (but it requires jailbreaking).
