Hello,

I seem unable to install python2.4-runtime with the Application manager. Every time I try to do that, the progressbar goes to near 50%, then resets, again goes to near 50%, after which I get a "Download failed" notice.

Any idea what could be wrong? Is there an alternative method (download .deb)?

Hmm, now it's same as before except python2.4-bluez_0.6.1-1osso5_armel.deb says MD5Sum mismatch.

I've tried downloading the files in question and installing them, but that doesn't work either. It says "Unable to install. Incompatible package" on the Problems tab for each one. And the log says: Package must have "Section: user/FOO" to be considered compatible.

Don't know what to try next.. Before this I've installed without any problems many games, dropbear, gpe-calendar, gpe-todo, hchmview, horizon, mediastreamer, mplayer, osso-xterm and privoxy.

I successfuly installed 2.4-runtime yesterday using instructions on this site: http://pymaemo.sourceforge.net/cgi-b...6df5f033c7fc68. Perhaps you also have consulted this site. I believe the secret to my success may have been my being on line via wi-fi when accessing the Maemo Repository through the Application Manager. This is probably a no-brainer to those more adept and knowledgeable of these procedures than I am, and it seems that you've already passed beyond this phase of trying to download and install the application.

Okay, thanks for letting me know you've been able to install it. I will reinstall the OS, and then try again.

edit: Yeah, that worked.
