Hello everyone. I'm a little new to this forum but it has been really helpful in my pursuit to learn about the n900 internet tablet.

I am just left with a few questions about it.

So in the current software build this will be lacking mms support though it could be added through future software updates or apps?

This utilizes 3g data but not 3g voice? I wasn't aware that you could do one or the other. How useful is 3g voice as opposed to quadband gsm?

Last question is about the hole on the bottom right of the n900. Is that a secondary MIC or a lanyard hole?

Sorry for all the questions but the more I read about the n900 the more confused I get. Mahalo for your help.

1) There is no definitive answer about MMS. It is not implemented currently and may not be for a long time (ever?). It is useful enough for a lot of users that I think Nokia will eventually implement it.

2) The N900 utilizes 3G voice and data as well as quadband GSM.

3) Dunno? probably lanyard.

From what i've seen it's the lanyard... i was thinking it might be a laptop-like lock hole haha (this is a computer after all :P)

I believe the hole is for the wrist strap.

How do you insert and remove a lanyard into just one hole? Other devices I've had in the past (old phones, Nintendo DS etc.) need two holes.

the new nokias have a small hook within the hole, just loop the lanyard around it and snap the cover closed and its secured

Thanks for all the answers everyone. Though i continue to read that the n900 will utilize quadband gsm frequencies for voice and 3g for data. This was along the lines of how the n900 wouldn't make 3g video calls. Thanks for your help, and this looks to be a great new addition to the nokia product line.

If someone with proto/prerelease N900 could tell us if there's a "gsm only"/"umts only"/"dual mode" switch like on other Nokia 3G phones, and if so, set it to umts only and try make a call? should gikve definite answer
