Some feedback: I want to contribute to the Brainstorm and to vote for the Council, to my surprise, I can't use my forum account. So I go to the registration page, and register for a garage account. There is no option to integrate both and no luck so far on trying to log in (and no idea how my Karma is going to end up).

I find the Garage FAQ and... see for yourselves:

http://maemo.org/community/community...ts/garage_faq/

The whole process is very confusing. Can we have a sticky with information regarding maemo.org accounts, talk.maemo.org accounts, etc?

Edit: doing an advanced search for my own profile ends up in a blank page with

"/export/hda3/4.4.102.M.36/local/conf/frontends/profiles/domain_filter (No such file or directory)"

Yup, the task is still on-going: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=28800

With regards to Karma, there is some integration (e.g. http://maemo.org/profile/view/qgil/ ), but you have to specify the link to your Talk account on your maemo.org account (more info).

For the mean time, create a maemo.org account as well.

FWIW, you won't be able to vote for who goes in the next Council for which the current voting process is ongoing as your newly-made account will not reach the required age limit required to vote.

Thanks for the info Reggie. I will try logging in later, but I think all this should be condensed in an easy to reach sticky. In fact, I am willing to do it.

Despite my forum account being way older?

That's... too bad. I guess.

Sure, feel free to write up something in the General forum. Here's the link on how to link the two accounts: http://wiki.maemo.org/Link_talk.maem...mo.org_profile

Looks like the maemo.org site has been hacked or at least spammed.

Anyone who had a tmo account which wasn't linked to from a maemo.org account, had the requisite karma from posts & thanks and whose account was created on or before 2009-06-21 should have received an email from Reggie telling them how to link their accounts.

Additional steps were also taken this election to pull in account ages from tmo if they were older than maemo.org accounts.

However, once the election starts the list of voters is (barring fundamental error), fixed. You can't create an account in the middle of the election and expect it to work - unfortunately the systems, processes and procedures don't work like that.

I can't get access to brainstorm at all. I registered and activated an account using the 'register' link seen at the top right when browsing the brainstorms. All seemed well and the system logged me in. When navigating back to community/brainstorm however, I was not longer logged in and couldn't log in again.

It seems I can log in at the garage (which is where I ended up when clicking the register link) but not when I'm in the brainstorm area.

Am I missing something obvious?

EDIT: My password was apparently too complicated (I used a couple special characters). Changing it to a simpler one (alphanumeric) seems to have fixed the problem.
