Just heard about this new wifi standard that'll enable wifi ad-hoc between any two wifi devices. Researched that it's also compatible with a/g (they can connect but not create), and also that some current devices will simply be able to be patched to include this feature (if they've the hardware)

reckon n900 will be able to jump on this boat?

My knowledge of wi-fi is limited, but isn't this a special case of ad-hoc mode?

It would certainly be useful to have, but as we already have BT FT profile, it's not a big deal to me.

i think the thing here is the extra bandwidth it would provide vs bluetooth, but other then that its basically bolting bluetooth-like features onto adhoc...

still, if it brings easy to use standardized file transfer to networks, i am game.
