I can no longer install or uninstall software with the Application Manager. When I attempt it it says that the action failed. The log says there is a problem with the /var/lib/dpkg/status file. I've looked at that file and there is a line that looks like it does not belong. I've edited the file on my Mac and put the file on the memory card. But, I can't change the good file for the bad one as I don't have access priveledges. I looked at the how to become root instructions but the first thing to do is install Dropbear...which I can't do as I can't install any software.

Is there any way out of this?
