Working at night for a few weeks. Flashlight was nice when using it in sporadic situations. But now, needing it very often, I'm a little bit dissapointed: open cover, close cam, open status bar, search flashlight, enable it...
Is there a fast way to associate flashlight app to "open cover with proximity sensor tapped", avoiding cam to open and further search at status bar, using some of the dbus-modification-association apps available yet?
Help is appreciated, I really need a fast-light at work this days.
Regards.

I'm afraid there is no other way. Unless you create a short cut on the screen and click on it instead and then open the camera button.

You'll have to contact the programmer. Ask him if he could add this to the flashlight.

Thanks for your answer... Yes, I'm afraid there isn't a fast solution, but my knowledge is very limited.
14h of work plus 3h of car travel every day don't allow me to python-it, but a fast-light-app must not be very hard to develop. If nobody codes it, holidays are near... why not?

Can't help thinking that a real torch (flashlight) would be the best solution.

No, it is not. I'm not a vigilant, I can't hold a torch with me everywhere.
A fast-startup mobile torch is adecuate. I'm "dirty manager", I can't hold a calculator, a torch, a notepad, a phone, a flexo-meter and the building plans with me! Not enough hands

There is a menu-item for keyboard to choose between longpress-repeat:
This could be a fast and clean way to do it: some kind of cover lens "cam-flashlight" switcher at menu bar: at day, preferred cam over light when opening cover. At night, priority for flashlight. We only must switch a few times, and cover will launch most of times the right one.
Only a desire, of course.
