I have Finnish locale in my N900. If I use email client to respond mails, it adds text 'Vs:' before topic (It is localized version of 'Re:') . I'm using gmail and there are great feature to gather same topics under one thread (I have read that gmail is not only which handle threads). Now my mail client on N900 breaks this.

So is there way to change value for that added reply-text?

(And btw, who thinks it was wise to localize that 'Re'?)

See this bug:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6541

It seems to be fixed meanwhile (internally), although comment #7 in this bug report gives you a hint on how to work around this issue right now if you really need to.

(I would recommend not to mess with files that belong to the core distribution unless absolutely necessary.)

Modest is far from the only mail client which does that, I know for sure that Outlook does as well. And gmail at least knows enough that Sv: (Swedish) is sorted in the same thread.

Yeah, this kind of localisation change is utterly wrong but still very common. Glad to see it's apparently fixed for the next release. Had to hack the email client on OS2007 due to this (as the bug report said - changing the RFC-mandated 'Re:' completely messes up communcation with other parties).
