There are so many games on the iPhone i want to play. I know Nokia has N-Gage but the selection on the N-Gage are not enough. Now that N900 is out and it can run 3D games, the current N-Gage games would be useless for the N900 (Optional of course) I hope Nokia do get games Developers to create N900 version games that are out on the iPhone and look as good as the iPhone ones. Any words on this please let me know. Bounce looks great but is short. Lets hope to see more games like bounce and games that are for the hardcore community.

Edit* Games on iPhone that i wish to play that never got the chance to because I've been a Nokia user only.

Hero Of Sparta
Zenonia
Resident Evil 4 (I know we have it on N-Gage but it aint good as the iPhone version)
Blades Of Fury
Assasins Creed (iPhone version is better than Symbian)
Real Tennis 2009
Mini Gore
Terminator Salvation (iPhone version better than symbian)
Modern Combat Sandstorm
Zombieville USA
Gangstar West Coast Hustler
And much more

I know the N900 doesn't have a multi touch like the iPhone to play this type of games but it has the Qwerty Keyboard and I wouldn't mind playing with it. These are great games that I would pay to play and many customers would too. N900 now has the 3D capability lets hope to see games like this!

Due to its open nature, Maemo hasn't attracted yet high profile games to its platform.

Nokia is working on ways to implement commercial software like games on Maemo, so it is probable it will happen in the future. In the summit it was mentioned that Maemo 6 (Harmattan) will have an open mode and a DRM mode; open mode being the device as we know it today and DRM mode the way more restricted apps can run.

Maybe you could get an iPod Touch for the time being...?

So we won't see any games like that on iphones soon because Maemo 5 does not have DRM mode.

DRM is Digital Rights Management, which, very basically, are technologies that try to prevent piracy by restricting features and capabilities (to prevent copies without authorization). The open nature of Maemo is exactly the opposite. Try giving a look to DRM in Wikipedia, it is a widely debated issue, often it has been called the biggest tech failure of all times; and also a feature so wanted by the industry, that has been pushed so hard, and the most hated by consumers.

If the N900 is compatible with Maemo 6, then good chances are that games will happen there. But it is not going to happen soon.

Oh ok thanks for the info. I was really hoping for games to be big on the N900. Sigh* Don't know if i should just move to the iPhone it has more selections on apps. I've tried so many Nokia phones and i was hoping for this one to be the best one. It lacks many features from its competitors. It has great multi tasking web browsing experience and a camera I agree on that. Only thing that's stopping me from getting iPhone is AT&T. I still have a long way for my plan to expire on T-Mobile. There's option to jail break the phone and use it on T-Mobile but then i will lose the warranty on exchanging the phone if it mess up because of its internal battery and also the iPhone does not support 3g on T-Mobile. Sigh* I hope Maemo deliver us enough apps to compete against iPhone or Droid. I get my N900 this Wednesday, I hope I don't get disappointed as I did with the N97

Even if N900 supports DRM, or attracts some high-profile developers, it still cannot get games like iPhone (with same graphic quality, ofc), b/c iPhone's GPU performance is better(better = 2x~ better)

Two things:

First: The difference between the N900 GPU and 3GS GPU (Power VRX 530 vs 535) is hardware acceleration for video reproduction (H.264 and the like). Even if it were superior, no game is fully using it yet, and worse, the iPhone display has approx half the resolution of the N900.

Second: I know the disadvantages of getting an iPhone, that is why I said, why not an iPod Touch? They are marketed as gaming devices after all.

N900: PowerVR SGX 530 (14 MPolys/s)
Iphone 3GS: PowerVR SGX 535 (28 MPolys/s)

And N900 has 2.5x more resolution than iPhone, so if you want equal graphic settings, you should get a GPU which can process 2.5x more pixels.

@mrojas
Maybe you're right, I dont have any idea if iPhone uses this hardware power or not. Maybe we need a benchmarking app for N900.
