Hi,

I've tried to install some applications from extras-devel and some apps are telling that I'm missing some Python-packages. I'm not able to find those packages anywhere.

For example software called "homecalendar" tells me I need to have "python-sqlite", "python-dateutil" and "python-sqlite" (again) installed.

How and where can I download the missing Python?

What device are you installing on, and are you sure the app was meant for that device ?

It sounds like you are trying to install a package that was built for Maemo4 on an N900, or something like that...

I'm trying to install the application for N900 from extras-devel repository.

Edit: this is the application:

Looking at the date (2009-07-14 07:51 UTC) when it was uploaded, I bet that homecalendar doesn't work unless you do some coding. You just have to accept that extras-devel has broken packages.

To be fair though, I would rather a broken package outright refuse to install than install and break the filesystem. So its probably for the best it wont install.

Okay.. that explains. I never took a second to see the date

Too bad, it would be nice to have a working homescreen calendar widget since the Nokia's own drains my battery very fast (I have double battery uptime when I'm not using the original calendar widget).

Really?? The original doesn't even do anything. But I have it there all the time.

Well... I had only 8 to 9 hours battery uptime before, and after I removed the calendar widget my phone can stay up 14-24 hours. Battery life drops down back to 8 to 9 hours if I put the widget back on homescreen.

How are you trying to install? If you are not using Application Manager, please use it. You can also click green install button from here http://maemo.org/downloads/product/Maemo5/zoutube/
