Complete newbie as far as Linux is concerned.

I want to install Linux on my Windows XP Machine and have just installed Sun Virtual Box. Two questions: Which flavour of Linux should I install so that I can have a go at developing for the N900 (a hello world app) would be impressive for me at the moment. And how would I install Python within this environment.

Hi

if you want to create your own image I would suggest to take the latest ubuntu and then getting the gui installer for the sdk from forum nokia and follow the installation process.

If you are planning to use the eclipse plugins you could get a fully configured image from here. I would suggest you to download the prefinal2, which contains the final sdk.

There are as well further information about the vmware project and the sdk in general.
