Does anyone know how many people work exclusively with Maemo at Nokia? I'm talking about paid staff, not this developer community. I've got the impression it's quite a small and tight knit group of enthusiasts. Does anyone know?

Thanks

or

he is just curious to how much nokia are going to be devoting to maemo platform.

In answer to the OP, i'm not sure. they have different development teams which are to do with maemo, eg qt is seperate team but heavily linked with maemo and the future of maemo and symbian. i suggest going to the PR part of the nokia website and checking out the figures.

I do know that since June or July 2009 Nokia established Maemo Devices as new part of the company and no doubt that's the core of Maemo, but like smegheadz said the Qt team isn't part of it directly while it's very much linked to Maemo especially in the future. Qt team is rather big and divided to two places. I did read about this some months ago and i think they had one place in NA and one in Central Europe.

Sometimes, sometimes, consumers may use this as a gauge for Nokia commitment to maemo

I personally think that asking the size of anyones staff, whether to say something nice or not, is rather rude.. shame on you Gadgety!

I would have thought that the Norway was the hotspot for Qt. Considering that Trolltech was based there and trolls are now Nokia Qt.

You are probally right. Other team was i think in Florida or something similar and Norway would make sense as the two teams where talking in the story i read about other being in a snowstorm while other team was sunbathing.

There are plenty of locations in the world that are enjoying sunbathing while Norway is deep in the snowstorms.

Don't know if this info helps, but in Finland there are two places, where the Maemo development is currently located: Helsinki (Ruoholahti) and Oulu.
