Before instaling PR1.1, I created a backup (6.9 MB) which I assumed included all 3500 contacts that I had on the phone. After installing PR1.1, I did a restore from the backup. Now I have only 48 contacts and they seem to be only ones associated with my IM accounts and none of the contacts I originally had brought over from Outlook on my laptop.

I looked in /home/usr/.osso-abook/db and there is a db file that's over 2MB in size. I did a grep for BEGIN and found several thousand hits. So I'm thinking the database is there, but what happened to those contacts. And is there some way to get them back.

In the meantime, I'm not panicking--I can always reload from Outlook (once I get Nokia PC Suite to co-operate!). I'm just curious as to what's going on here.

EDIT: I did another restore, this time from a different backup file that was made a few hours earlier than the last backup, and that brought back over 3400 contacts. So my contacts are back, but still worried about what actually happened.
