Hi, I have a N900 and since yesterday it started to give a connection error when trying to use the phone, when I'm at a specific location (@home in my case). Every number I tried to dial... connection error. Put the sim in another phone and works perfectly. Put the sim back in the N900 and went out the door. N900 worked perfectly again. Come back home, connection error.

The indicator for provider signal is sometimes not there, sometimes on 3g and sometimes on 2g. Eitherway, I can't dial.

Reflashed my N900. Still the same problem... Does anyone else have the same problem? And what can I do about it?

I'm getting tired of taking my sim out and putting it in another phone when I'm at home... please HELP!

I've experienced two instances of the same problem this week; both occurred after rejecting a call while doing something else (texting, listening to music). A simple reboot of the device cleared the problem both times.

Were this a PC-based device, I'd suspect an IRQ conflict with the phone application perhaps causes it to lose resources after rejecting a call that it can't reclaim to make a new call (old-school diagnostic, I know).

Anyone else got ideas on this one?

Ok, thanks for the reply. But what do you define as a reboot? Simply power down or take out the battery or reset device to default settings or flash it? (Did it all..nothing worked )

Might I suspect this could be a either another device which is jamming my signal or there is a hardware failure (what I think is highly unlikely since outside a 100m zone of my house, it works fine)...

Just received a text message from T-mobile. It told me that a signal tower had a defect and that the problem should have solved since last night. Well, it has. !diots...

I had the exact same problem "connection error" all the time in specific areas, getting my simcard changed solved it for me, but now I have an other problem in the same areas (mainly at work) people tell me that my sound quality drops while on the phone. My provider (orange Austria) said that this can accour when talking over 3G. So I went on installing 2G/3G Switcher and it seems that by switching to 2G sloves the drop in quality, not realy the solution I hoped for but some workaround for those that can switch to 2G

I think what happens is that if you force your phone to 3G or 2G.. and it loses signal ..and there is a delay between the signal lost and the phone app actually knowing about it.. and because you select one mode (3G/2G) it cannot move over to the other band
and tries making a call while actually having no signal..

If you get the connection error .. Try switching between modes or just set it to "Dual"
I had the same problem.. I would just switch between modes and it would work fine after that.
